Cedefop launched a new tool – a database on vocational education and training in Europe.

This new Cedefop database is the main source of information about vocational education and training (VET) systems in the European Union, Iceland and Norway. It contains detailed information about each VET programme type, including qualification levels, share of work-based learning, providers and target groups. The database is a tool that will help to better understand the similarities and differences of national VET systems through easy-to-navigate and up-to-date descriptions.

The new database:

  • offers more than 2 500 pages of data accessible through a single screen;
  • allows the user to compare information by country and theme;
  • includes diagrams of national VET systems;
  • generates downloadable national reports.

The database was prepared in cooperation with ReferNet – a network of institutions, which monitor and provide information on national vocational education and training (VET) systems and policies in the EU Member States, Iceland and Norway.

Updates on VET systems in EU countries will be added in 2021.
