The Ministry of National Education in Poland announced the first call for applications (POWR.02.14.00-IP.02-00-001/19) addressed to NGOs, HEIs, research institutes, associations and unions of local governments for the co-financing of 5 projects to establish Local Centres of Knowledge and Education (LOWE).

Within the call, 100 LOWEs are planned to be designed and operated. Projects will be implemented through grants - one grant represents one LOWE.

The first call for applications starts on June 17, 2019 at 9:00 and will last until July 2, 2019 at 12:00.

The allocation for the call is 31 million PLN , and the maximum value of one project is 6.2 million PLN.

LOWEs are local educational centers supporting adults in developing key competences in order to improve their situation in the labour market. LOWEs offer various forms of non-formal and informal learning for adults using the potential of the schools in which they operate. The first centers were developed at schools in 2017-2018 within the framework of projects co-financed by the European Social Fund.
